On modeling of elastic interface layers in particle composites

Two high order imperfect interface models of elastic spherical interphase are developed using the Bövik-Benveniste methodology. In one model, effect layer is accounted for via jumps in field variables across traces its boundaries, while other—via corresponding trace mid-surface. The derived higher jump conditions incorporated into unit cell model particle composite and accurate semi-analytical solutions to boundary value problems obtained by multipole expansion method. Numerical examples presented demonstrate that use provides an evaluation local fields overall stiffness properties composites with interphases and/or incoherent interfaces.
